I have a walbro 525 the stm rewire kit and my relay and wiring is also really hot.
melted the factory connector on the pump assembly.
im going to try a higher amp relay and replace the pump

You shouldn't be running the larger pumps at full voltage full time. Look at mrfreds hi/lo voltage rewrite thread and redo your rewire with a Hobbs switch.
