This is all cause of our specifically US designed transfer case. If they had just used the one they used everywhere else in the world, we wouldn't be having problems...

Of course, I heard it was changed because the xfer case was busting through the floor in crash tests. Damn, you could blame Mitsu or crash standards. Take your pick.

ditto..

how do you tell if it's going or is bad already?

is this the crazy decel noise i get when i'm in gear? it kinda goes in and out and sometimes it's worse than other times...

it's been doing it for a very long time though.. even before i got the new clutch.. but then it wasnt as loud.. as soon as the clutch went in, and i drove away from AMS it was way louder!..

did my xfer case go?

Doesn't sound like you have a problem yet, in my experience, the sound occurs under load, and gets kind of wild when the clutch is disengaged and rolling, like high pitch metal to metal grinding. Keep and ear to it, check your fluids to see if there is a high amount of metal shavings/particles contained therein.

ok..so what is the sound i (and im sure others)are hearing when decel (mainly in 3rd) it sounds like a rattle in the front left corner of the car..is that the clutch spring? i tried pushing the clutch a little to see if it would go away, but it sounds like its still there

what could that noise be?

I get rattle upon decel too.

For awhile my exhaust was a little loose - the section of the catback connecting to the cat. I tightened it down to 50 lb-ft and the rattle has gone away slightly, but I'm not sure if that was the main rattle I here. My rattle seems to upon right when I let off the throttle, and it rattles ever so slightly. It's hard to notice but it's there... not sure what it is though.

i wonder why the exaust would be so loose, my car has only 600 miles on it, and the rattling worries me a bit, also, there is a somewhat-harsh click when i go into 2nd,3rd,and 4th gear

any advice?

How loud is it? The engine has a little deceleration buzz, which is normal. Is it like a whine, a howl or buzzing?
