double pumper + dual 044s

Anyone ever try using two walbros in tank, with an 044 inline with each walbro? I am currently figuring out how I'm going to rig up my new 044s. I currently have a Buschur double pumper.

After a while thinking, the easiest thing sounds like leaving the double pumper hooked up. And just put the 044s inline with each wally. Feed and return are getting upgraded, FWIW. Reason I say easiest is: no need to rig up 2 in-tank feeds (hose/tube) with prefilters, and really important to me, the syphon works perfect on the Buscher setup.

I'm just worried about electricity. That's got to be a crazy amount of draw once the hobb's switch kicks on the 2nd wally and 2nd 044. I don't THINK I'll need to worry about over running the FPR...

Tim, if you are going to spend that much money on two 044s your best bet would be to just get a larger single external pump like a magna fuel or aeromotive with the variable fuel flow circuits...

well, truth be told, I'm past the point of no return on that decision. pumps in hand, plus, lines and stuff accumulating now too. 044s were a helluva deal though.

crazy though, I almost PM'd you rather than make this post, but I thought you were out of pocket at the moment.

if your worried about amps being drawn, just use the fuel pump signal to trip relays so that the pumps get power straight from the battery, each with their own fuse.

I was looking to do the same thing but I'm not sure. I need something that will support over 850wheel. I have the Buschur double pumper but was loosing fuel pressure at 750wheel. Also how loud are the external pumps?

two 255hp pickups feeding 044's should flow 1000whp if im not mistaken, I know that would be a Inline/ Parallel setup hybrid...

if a dual walbro 255 double pumper setup can do 800whp with 2150cc injectors then the added 044s should take you the extra 200whp with upgraded lines.

Dual 450's would get the job done. Or use the double pumper to feed a larger external inline pump like Freddie said. I think 4 pumps is a little unnecessary. You could sell them to help fund another pump with one feed to the rail

leaving the 255's in place is just to save me the trouble of fabbing a reliable pickup. Plan is to wye the 044's into a single -8an feed to the rail.

I think I'll just try it and see if there's enough electricity. If it's no good, I'm no worse for the wear, since i'll just be back where I am now, considering how to modify the DP to feed 2 044's. everything modified to add the 044's will still be used if I later remove the 255's.

All you need to do is remove the 255 pumps and install the 450 pumps. Some mod work is needed to the pumps but its an hour project. Your wasting your time and twin 450s will allow more then what you plan to do and or ever need. Just sell what you got and make it simpler and right to the point. I been running dual 450s for a while. All stock wiring and i make the second pump PNP. I have built several kits using them and everyone so far has loved them and shown great results.

Don't complicate your fuel setup. More pumps, more wiring, more issues to happen.
