jun 264 cams?
I just got my jun 264 cams, springs.retainers,cam gears installed on my evo8 and I have a rough idle. My current setting is 0 ex 0 in.
What is the cam gear setting for jun 264 cams?

you're right, ask him if he has a flash for you, if not he could do a custom one, and you will get better gains from it than the s-afc (can't control timing+Al's a good tuner)

HKS offers 264 and 272 cams for the Evo8. The intake lift is 10.8mm, and the exhaust lift is 10.2mm.
JUN offers 264/10.5 and 272/10.8 cams for the Evo8.
There's not that much different between the HKS and JUN 264 cams.

The JUN 264 cams are supposed to be more aggressive than the HKS 272. I've been heavily researcing these cams and from what I hear, you will need additional engine management. I'm not sure if you want to go piggy-back (like an XEDE), box-stack (safcII + ebc + ...) or a reflash, but you will need to run some form of upgraded engine management to best use those cams.
At one point Al was using these cams, I'm not sure if he still is. Boost Solutions has also worked with these cams on a customers car. Not sure if they have just finished or if they still have the car in their shop.

The JUN cams that Al used on his car were the 272s with a GReddy E-Manage which weren't meant for use on the street and a piggyback system.
I really don't know where you guys got the idea that the JUN 264 were more aggressive than the HKS 272s.......................

It is the duration (and overlap, but obviously they are related) of the cams that will cause it to idle rough, not the lift. I have no idea what the duration is of either, but the lift isn't gonna tell you diddly about how "agressive" a cam is...once you get to a certain lift, any more gets you a whole lotta nothin. More duration gets you higher and higher peak HP, sacrificing mid range and low end until eventually the car won't idle at all...

duration are similar.
I was told that the JUNs profile is such that they ramp up to max lift quicker and stay there longer
before dropping back to close.
This is one reason you needed stronger springs, because the rate at which the valves open and
close is quicker.
The valve will float, or bounce off the seats with the stock springs at a lower RPM than normal.
At least this is how it was explained to me.
I decided on the HKS as sufficient for my needs, because I didn't want to mess with the springs.
When I talked to Al about cams, he ranked them HKS 264, HKS 272, JUN 264, JUN 272, from least to
most aggressive. And he has probably tried them all.
