Oil Feed Line for BB 5858
Just ordered a new BB 5858 to replace my 5857. Precision told me to run an in-line oil filter and no restrictor (as the restrictor is inside of the turbo). I had previously been running the oil feed off the head. Was thinking about doing a feed line off the filter housing. My oil filter housing inlets are retapped to 3/8 NPT as I ran my oil pressure sensor for my gauge from there and there have been no issues with that so far.
This seems like a dumb question, but do you have to use a banjo fitting for the oil feed line? As I made my own remote line for my gauge sensor, wouldn't it just be possible to run a 90 degree elbow off the oil filter and then run the correct length -4 line to the turbo or would too much pressure be pushed through? Is it even necessary to run from the oil filter housing with a PTE BB turbo or would it just be a piece of mind type thing?
