What is the best Intake?

What is the very best intake kit for the evo 8? I have heard the HKS suction kit is quite nice, but I know there are plenty of others out there. I plan on doing a flash and turbo back exhaust within the next 3 months for what it is worth.

Personally, I went with the blitz sus, since it's pretty, and after multiple open elements on my EVO, I noticed no real differences between different elements. For the sound, the blitz is great.

More info on different intakes here:

I really enjoyed the Apexi Intake. The Apexi filter + intake Pipe is the same price as the hks.

The sound from my turbo is very agressive with the intake on. It also change the sound of my VTA blitz BOV. Changed from a chuff to a cheeeeeeeree. Pretty difficult to explain but anyone who has heard a similar setup understands me.

Another advantage is the apexi is zero matenace and lifetime use.
The apexi filter element itself had the best filtration and airflow on a test shown here :

The HKS Racing Suction kit is well worth the money because of its superior design. Only Apexi makes a similar Racing kit.

Bobby, did you have an NA Z before?

if u want sound, then u gotta go with HKS rs. I have it and that thing will open up the bov sound. Its in between a whoosh and a chirp, but more on the whoosh side obviously. Dunno if apex intake has that sound (just the intake itself, no aftermarket bov). But the HKS pipe and the apexi seems like a good combo as the apexi is known for good filtration. FROm the pcitures ive seen, it seems as thought the piping for the HKS seems a lot bigger than the AEM or the K&N. NOt too sure though.

Simple and very effective. The sound is muted though. I am thinking of the Blitz.... just luv the sound ... some of the folks on the road down here as so easily frightened by that sound... heh

The HKS is good for sound & performance..... but SUCKS for filtration.

So with the hks rs pipe and apexi filter, would you still have maf or idling problems? I truly want the hks rs but don't like the filter and don't like the idling/stalling problems.
