anyone know what this noise is?

i just bought a 2003 yellow evo with 13k miles on it,i'm noticing a kind of "rough"noise when i let off the gas in any gear, and i've also noticed that i hear it even when i'm parked with the car in neutral.i don't think it's the engine though because when i push the clutch pedal down all the car it goes silent...is it just the clutch?or something more?thanks....

Decel noise if you do a search it has been noticed by many of us Evo owners. If it get really loud take it back to the dealer to have them check it out better safe than sorry. My Evo has it but they said it is nothing to worry about. But it could be the throw out bearing. But they said tech line told my Evo tech it was normal and would not authorize them to take a look at it or anything under warranty.

thanks guys...so let me sound like a moron...what is the throwout bearing and should i be worried?if it's not going to hurt anything else i'm not gonna sweat it,but i want to baby this car....i've also noticed a little drop in pwer since i bought it,the turbo feels a lil weak when it kicks in,maybe a something loose&i'm loosing pressure?the previous owner installed a blow-off valve, maybe it's not closing completely?

I've noticed a similar sound but fairly subtle. Since it has been very hot lately and I've had the AC running, I figured the sound was a dieseling noise. But I also noticed a similar sound that was there with clutch out and gone with clutch in....

Lot of times your car will feel slow because you got used to the power. Mine feels real slow but when I out run WRX's and Mustangs, I know it's there.

I personally think that it is the springs in the clutch... They sometimes rattle.. But it could be a throw out bearing also...
