PTE 6266BB Gen 1 Oil restrictor

Hi.
I bought an PTE 6266BB Gen 1, I installed on the car...
When I first start the engine, after 1 min of idle I switch it off, I a noise was coming from the turbo just like a metal noise!
My question is. Does the turbo came from the factory with a oil restrictor inside or not?
In that hole there is a restrictor and after that is the line form the head.

Can someone help me out!
Many thanks guys in advance!
Dan

It comes with the oil restricter built in. I asked PTE about that same noise and they told me it's the ceramic bearings that are loud.

The fitting on the CHRA is a restrictor. Do not remove it as that will cause a failure. If it comes out send the turbo back and have it repaired.

Hi. Thank you for the responses. So in the picture there are 2 restrictors? One inside the turbo and one that is like a fitting witch we can see it/? (That one I can take it off and put it back)
The ideea with that one is that it has the small holes in lateral, not like all the restrictors that I saw on extremepsi..map..e bay.. , with the hole in front

I will go at the shop today and make some pictures
Thank you again!!

The one on the outside is the one you do not ever remove.

I went today at the shop...
The idea is that the restrictor has only one hole on the side.
Is it right?

Is it the correct restrictor?
That is what I have now! (

I still do not know if that restrictor with only one side hole os the correct hole!(

I do not understand why I had that noise from the turbo after I stopped the engine

You ruined the turbo. That should never be removed. The turbo has a huge sticker attached to that stating that removal will ruin the Turbo. Do not run it any more. Send it to PTE for repair to prevent more damage.

Because the big tag says that if you remove that there will be damage to the unit. I shouldn't say it is ruined. It may be repairable if you don't run it and send it in. It is definitely damaged as of now.

I only start the car. I was building the engine since March.
It was the first time when I start the engine!

I live in Romania so.. sending back ...is not my first option((

Maybe they have a European authorized repair facility. Call and ask them.

There is a Ball bearing noise that you can hear when you shut off the car, that is completely normal.

If you started the car with the oil restrictor on, then you are OK and I think you are being paranoid about the ball bearing sound, because if you did start without the restrictor, you would have blown the seals and you would see a butt load of white smoke out of your exhaust during idle.

I know because I had a shop install mine without it once, and they blew the seals.

If I put all together back (restrictor lines..) can I use the car for 200- 300 KM before going to soft/ dyno?

Does that restrictor had the role to balance the shaft of the turbo?

Thank you!

Like I told you by PM, spin the compressor wheel by hand, if it spins freely without any resistance, you should be okay and make sure the car is not smoking. I have a 6266 and 6466, both make noise little noise due to ceramic ball bearing until they come up to normal temp.
