Turbosmart wastegate difference between 8/9

I purchased a turbosmart internal gate off someone who said it was for an Evo 8, but it seems to be for an Evo 9. I notice the mounting bracket is a bit different as it seems to be curved opposed to my stock Evo 8 wastegate bracket which is strait. The actuator actually hits the fan shroud because of this and won't mount up.
Is there anything I can do to make this wastegate work on my car? Can I bend the bracket strait or purchase an Evo 8 bracket for it to make it work or are there other differences between the Evo 8 and 9 Turbosmart wastegates that will prevent it from working such as the actuator arm itself, etc?
Thanks for the help.

I don't know if it'll fit at all with the 8 brackets. I think the 9 shaft is longer than the 8.

The turbosmart wastegates are Evo turbo specific, there's is one for the 8 and one for the 9. Do not bend the arm. Just get a IX turbo, they're cheap and you'll make more power. Win win situation.
