New build.. Which turbo?!

Hi Guys,

I've been reading a lot about turbo choice but not sure what to go. So wanted some insight.

I'll be starting my build shortly on my EVO 9 and it'll have these parts:

- Nitto 2.3L stroker kit
- built MIVEC head
- GSC R2 Cams
- GSC Springs, retainers
- All necessary bolt ons (Hypertune inlet manifold, throttle body, intercooler, ARTEC 3.5" exhaust system, Radium Surge tank, ID 1700cc injectors, etc)

Will be running a Flexfuel set up so will be on 98 and E85

Already bought a Hypertune manifold, it'll be T4 twinscroll with twin TiAL 38mm MVS wastegates with external dump.

I'm wanting some opinions on what turbo to go with. I was dead set on a BorgWarner EFR8374 EXT 1.05 but have been reading really good things about the PTE turbos, especially the PTE 6466. I don't really have any power goals but I want an all rounder type of car. One that I can drive daily/weekend/track/drag. I want relatively fast spool up as well.

Thanks for reading and any help would be much appreciated.

Please let me know if you require anymore information from me!

Some pics of my EVO for fun

i'm not sure how well rounded a car will be with all that stuff. you have a lot of parts that shift the power band to the high end. more drag strip/street race/dyno number kinda stuff.
but it depends. "well rounded" also means different things to different people. for me it's a car that is boring to a lot of people LOL

A T4 twin scroll 8374 or EFR7163 would be good for that setup. Depends on your power goals and where you want peak boost to be.

Where would a T4 TS 6466 hit 40PSI in the rev range?

Why not talk with Hypertune and tell them your hp goals, and ask them what turbo would pair best with their manifold.

Alright, well not sure exactly what power goals I want so I'll just throw out what my dream set up would be.

500kw/atw so that'll be about 670whp and I'd like to hit 25psi at about 4000rpm.

Does that sound possible at all?

Sell your current exhaust manifold and put FP Red on it with the new stainless exhaust housing. With that 2.3 you'll hit your boost target and make 600hp.
