Question evo 9 timing belt

hello there fellow forum member,

I hope i post this in the right section, if i'm wrong please help me post to the right section.

I'm currently looking for a timing belt kit with water pump for my 06 evo 9 GSR six speed. Any recommendation?

I have been looking at this timing belt kit from ebay.

would you guys recommend it? if not please recommend me what timing belt kit that is better.

here's a link to the parts:
GMB

http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-07-Mitsub...K058Zw&vxp=mtr

The car's milage is 90k km (55k miles) and is in stock condition.

i can't buy parts from the dealership since the car is imported from japan through a used car agent. so my only choice is to order online/ebay etc.

Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers and Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all.

GMB water pump you can trust but you don't need it. But belts( timing and balancer ) are no name brands I see.you better find goods belts and tensioner .these are most important parts when you do timing belts. On eBay STM sells stuff too,map performance rallysportdirect etc.

i buy all my OEM-equivalent parts from rockauto.com

most of their stuff is GMB, Gates, etc which supply OEM anyway. you can pick and choose the parts you want or buy a kit.

also, if you go with a Mitsu timing belt, be sure to get the one for the IX (if they still give an option). the reason being: i believe the IX is kevlar, the VIII is not. it's been a while so i may be mistaken.. i just buy IX belts anyway.

lastly: most of the water pumps you find now will be for an "VIII", meaning it won't have one of the mounting points for the alternator, which is fine; it's not needed anyway. you can find one for a IX, but it will usually be OEM and big $$$.

i race/autox/beat on my car with all the parts i bought from RA. no problems with any of them.

You are right about the 9 belts being stronger.

I got a Dayco timing kit for my wife's WRX. It had everything including a new tensioner and water pump. It all fit fine except for the belt which was way too small. Aftermarket, you never know.
