Hi fellow evom members.
I'm builting a 4g64/4g63 head combo on my Evo 8. I just wanted some advice on picking the correct Pistons.
I bought a 4g64 block from a 2001 galant for my built.
I already bought the following for my built:
Manley forge 100mm crank
Manley TT I beam rods 156mm
ACL race bearings
Arp main studs
Fluidamper
GSC r2 camshaft
GSC beehive 5041 spring and titanium retainers
GSC no tick lifters
Kiggly HLA
Aem cam gears
6466 precision turbo

I will be using dual map on pump gas and e85.
I'm looking to used a 9.0:1 compression with a 0.20 over bore. Also with upgrade 200-225mm wrist pins. Hopefully I will be making 600hp on pump gas and 750hp on e85.

If anyone can tell me the parts number and where to get the best prices would be great!!!!

That's the right piston, except he need the 87mm one for .020 over in a 4g64 block.

you are right.. I forgot it is 86.5 stock bore..

so, the next piston on the list..

So the K627M87AP is the correct one?
Because I have the Manley 156mm rods and the Manley 100mm crank

yes... that is the g64 piston for 100 mm crank and 156 mm rod.. 9:1 CR and 87 bore..

but i do urge you to talk to someone like english racing, who stock these pistons and get it from them.. prices are ok and you will get the advice you need if you are not sure..

Exactly this. And maybe you can convince them to sell you their 4g64 head gasket too.

Any other piston that have 9.0:1 compression that I can used?

I know there is a lot of 2.4L 4g64 built here in evom.
Can you tell me about which one you used?

manley extreme duty with thick pins 608020CE-4 9.1 CR

CP piston SC7262, but you need to order upgraded pins...

all of this you need to confirm with the builder.. I would go with wiseco HD2 though..

Wiseco HD2 are probably the best. They're a true FSR piston. Idk if the what CP and JE offer for our cars are actual FSR's, or just machined full rounds.

JE doesnt have an off the self piston, custom is an option though..

yeah, Wiseco HD2 looks the best as far as the forging goes..

Funny thing is, those manufacturers that have lots of piston versions usually dont know what they have. I was looking for a wiseco piston to fit 2.0 with long rod but with slightly higher CR.. like 9.2 to 9.4... to run on pump.

Wiseco had nothing for long rod stock stroke but when I looked at E85 pistons for strokers (that have right pin height for long rod 2.0) I noticed that 10.5 CR stroker piston has the right dome CC to end up being a 9.4 (or so) 2.0 long rod piston... hahah.. Ordered those.

Yesterday I was chuffed to find that Wiseco actually introduced my category in the catalogue.. i.e. 2.0 156mm pistons with slightly higher CR.. and hey, there are my pistons..

Ross pistons are also a good choice. They will even custom make a set to your specs. Heres what mine look like in my 3g. Yes they are coated also Look how thick the ring lands are on the side
