Block surface prep for machined head

Please help me our guys, Im getting new valves put it and the head is being resurfaced, I need to clean the bottom end mating point, it had a lot of gasket residue on it, how should i clean it?

Already tried pb blasted, brake cleaner and plastic razor blades also a scraper. still on there, I don't wanna use scotch write because I heard horror stories about it ruining motors. Any ideas???

also, do i need to block any of the galleries on the block? i won't be pulling the motor out so i don't wanna get crap in there if it will damage stuff.

Carbide scraper. Search super scraper online. I like to soak in gasket remover first. If the engine is on a stand turn it sideways so all of the crap doesn't fall into the bore / water / oil passages.
