Turbo help, options, best for?
Hey all, long time lurker on the forum.
Currently in the process of tying up the final parts list of my Evo VI build and I'm stuck on the turbo.. I plan on using the car a daily, however also want it to pack a punch against your od Skyline, supra, and my other fellow Evo brothers, and of course your occasional track day.
The aim is 350-400kw (470 - 540hp) the current list of mods is as follows; please keep in mind that I only plan on modifying the bottom end (head will have drop in cams)
Tomei Pon cams 270 Degree
Tomei adjustable Cam gears
SPOOL Engine rebuild kit
ARP Head studs
Apexi power FC/Haltech ECU (50/50 chance of E85)
however I'm stuck on the turbo? I was reading and learning more about the Garret GTX3076R however I don't think I need such a large turbo. Also another option was to run the Evo 9 stock turbo but un sure if a. it fits or b. it'll make the power I'm after.
any ideas and things to add onto my build? thanks heaps dudes

On E85, an FP red will get you to the upper end of your goal with a solid tune. A green will get you there on kill mode. You'll need a big turbo to make that much power on pump gas, something in the 35r range..

^ not on our dynos it won't. Typical FP Red E85 build will go 340-360kw, Green E85 300-320kw. IX E85 240-260kw. Need a Black E85 to be making ~400kw
I would look at the locally made GTPumps 712 & 762. The 712 is comparable to the Green, 762 comparable to the Red

Your dyno's must read extra low because a red will do well into the 500's on a mustang dyno on kill mode if its on a good motor.

I had the 712 after my BB Green was converted to a paper weight, in terms of boost threshold they were near identical. Not sure what graphs you're referring to but our numbers aren't really comparable to US DJ/MD

What is the power rating of a stock Evo 9 turbo? As the bottom end will be built with forged pistons, metal hg and arp studs. As far as the head I only plan on having 270 degree pon cams (budget doesn't allow for a built head)
Can someone please explain to me what the green/red is?
