Would you use this crank?

Just got a 100mm crank out of a galant for my 2.3 build, 2 of the lobes have noticable pittings, my fingernail drags on them (I can feel the pits), but it does not look too deep, do you guys think a micropolish would clean this up?

Needs to be cut .010" undersized if you wanna use it and end up with proper oil clearance.

Thank you, yeah I was hoping I did not have to do that, but had a feeling i would need to, would you trust a cut crank in your build? Dont know weather to cut this, or find another used crank..

I heard that cutting a crank correctly isn't easy, not sure if theres any truth to that. Make sure it goes to a good machine shop.

I assume it means because you want to keep the radii on each side of the journals. I forget what they are called.
Also, are our crank journals nitride treated?

ahh yes, kinda makes it hard because there are no good machine shops (atleast from what i know) here in my area, yes they are nitride treated, and if you take over .020" off I believe it cuts the treated layer right off. I think I need a new damn crank :/

It's the fillet radius. And yes, not all shops that cut cranks are created equal.

the thing is, the pitting extends out TO the fillet radius, so i highly doubt the machine shop down the street can fix that.. but thanks for the responses guys, I guess I will give a shot and micro polishing it before trying to sell it.

All of that gets cut when you under size the crank. It'll be fine if have someone that know W what they're doing cut it..
