Transmission noise from drivers side

Transmission noise from drivers side
So I am trying to diagnose this noise my transmission was making. Its on the drivers side near the end of the casing. The noise would come on around 3300rpms if I were sitting in neutral and revving it.
It sounded like bolts rattling around in the trans. The noise did not stop with the clutch in or out, doesnt matter.
I got the trans out tonight, took it apart and have seen nothing odd. My first thought was the input shaft bearing. Well the two bearings on the ends look absolutely fine. Thats where the noise was coming from. I see nothing wrong with anything as I inspect the bearings, gears, syncros etc.
I even took the clutch off to check flywheel bolts, everything tight. Didnt see any issues with the clutch, I run an Exedy triple. I am aware of the noise the clutch makes for anyone that wants to bring that up lol. This is more of a heavy rattling/rocks in the casing sound.
Any idea on where I can look next?

How does the reverse idle gear look?

thats where I am leaning too. I put the trans back together and put it in today. I started it and left it at idle, with the inspection cover off, its definitely the reverse idler that making noise. I guess ill order another and install it and see if it quiets down.

You left the inspection cover off the trans? So there was no fluid in it? And you let the engine run????

You don't need an assembly. You probably need the gear, the bushing, and the washers. The mount should be fine. Before ordering anything, take it out, take the clip off, and pull it apart to see what you actually need..

I just pulled the reverse idler out. I took it apart and found nothing out of the ordinary. I dont know if its worth getting a new gear and bearing or what> Its around $150 for the two pieces.
I know its this piece thats making the noise, however it never used to be loud like this. Now at around 3300 rpm it just screams.

i want to bring this back from the dead...my car at idle when the car is warmed up sounds like a puerto rican playing the drums on tin cans...i have tq solution mounts but when the car is cold it doesnt sound like this...i started doing some research and according to the tsb and jack trans everything leads to the reverse idler gear...the tsb says they sell a kit to fix this? anyone want to school me on this info? also, it says the reverse idler can be replaced without removing the trans? how do i access the reverse idler gear? im not pulling off the trans for this crap...if i dont replace it what happens? just have to deal with the noise?

The small black plate under the trans on the end of it is where the reverse idler gear is. Pull that cover off, and then there is a torx head bolt on the front of the case. Loosen that out and the reverse idler gear comes out. You do have to drain fluid.
