Evo 8 5 speed selector fork or shift linkage?

Last night after a 4th gear pull the shifter went loose in 4th, and would only move between 3rd and 4th, no side to side movement at all. It would not engage neutral unless I pushed the clutch pedal in, but it seemed to still engage both 3rd and 4th when I let the clutch out. Just trying to get some ideas before I rip the trans and console out. Anyone familiar with this issue your input would be greatly appreciated.

No biggy one of your cables broke.try to shift with your hand straight from the trans.if it shifts trans is good.mine broke right by the bushings.
