Borg Warner ABS sensors

So, I needed to replace both front ABS sensors on my car (a story for another time). I ordered Beck Arnley replacements from Rockauto since they were quite a bit cheaper than OEM. Go to install them today and the magnet that sticks out of the sensor is too long. It hits the reluctor wheel.

Have you used these? Did this issue happen to you? Did BA tell you to file down the sensor tip, or did they send replacements that worked?

Thanks.

I'm interested to hear what others have to say, I needed to replace the sensors on my car and ended up buying some used OEM ones, I was too scared to get a set off Rockauto.

I'll be opening a return/replace ticket with Rockauto when I get home from work today. I'll keep the thread updated with what happens.

Beck Arnley didn't have dimensions for me, they were able to note that there were no recalls on that part number so they should be fine (obviously they're not). I returned them to rockauto, and bought another set off amazon for $50 less per sensor...lol. I was able to see in the pictures that the tips of my sensors don't look "finished" they have casting imperfections that can not be seen in the product images. So we'll see how it goes.

Well, the second set of Beck/Arnley I got also don't fit. The body of the sensor from the flange is .15mm too long, and the sensor tip is .5mm to long. Going to be returning these as well. Gonna have to find some used OEM pieces. I can't spend $700 on new OEM ones...

Man what a PITA. How is there not a single viable aftermarket replacement for these things? Its not exactly a unique part...

There are some that cost the same as OEM, and there are some $30-$50 ones floating around that don't really have a name brand attached to them, so I'm not gonna bother...lol. I've put wanted ad's up for some good used OEM pieces. Hopefully I can find some..

OK correction, less expensive aftermarket ones, lol. If they cost the same as OEM then why bother haha.

Well, fingers crossed you can find some good used replacements!

Very exciting find. I shot an email to Ross Sport to see if they'll give me dimensions.

Ross assured me his sensors would fit, so I ordered them. They'll ship UPS express saver on Monday.
