Exedy 05803HD vs ACT HDSS

Can anyone compare the Exedy 05803HD to the ACT ME2-HDSS, I know price and durability are good for both clutches. I was more concerned with pedal effort and smoothness for daily driving. I currently run an ACT ME2-HDSS, my only issue is occasional 2nd gear lockout at WOT and high rpm. My main concern with the exedy is reports of the 05803HD having a heavy pedal effort, I am happy with my current ACT clutch pedal effort.

......................................torque capacity at wheels.....pressure plate clamp
Exedy 05803..........................396................ ................3012
Exedy 05803HD......................472.................. ..............3597
ACT ME2-HDSS....................510
ACT ME2-XTSS......................590

Thanks,
David

I've got a 05803HD but it's not installed yet

I can comment once it's in and let you know what I think. it'll be a few months though

I am hoping someone will say the 05803HD pedal effort is the same as the ACT HDSS

verify exedy pressure plate clamp loads are indeed ft/lbs, and not Nm.

i believe exedy quotes their force in Nm.

besides, you can achieve a similar clamping force with different pedal efforts.

i have bad knees, so i am particular about pedal effort.

in saying all that, i had the act mb-7 pp from years bck & that was a lot heavier than the stock pp to me.

some people claim the effort was very little.

People also claimed an exedy twin HD was "just a little heavier than stock", while IMO, it was much heavier than stock & still heavier than the basic act pp.

so take everyones opinion with a grain of salt.
