Stock Trans + 2.3L Stroker= Problems?
Hey Everyone,
looking at building a 2.3l stroker and have all the components.( Eagle Billet Crank / MAP Rods / Weisco HD2 Pistons) Parts are used and have roughly around 4k on them.
i know max rev shouldn't be past 8k , but my concern is the trans/transfer case and rear end?
I change fluids every 12K- Is there anything in regards to reliability i should be worried about because the added torque? Should i just build a 2.0L instead
strictly a street car it will be paired with GSC Stroker cams and a Speed Trap Consulting Garret Hybrid 3030R

Torque will be controlled with the wastegate spring and boost controller.. If you want less power then lower the boost. Easiest way to control the torque.
I would also get an ATI or at least a fluid damper to help lessen the vibrations with the bigger crank.
The evo drivetrain seems to handle 400-500tq well with somewhat of a forgiving clutch. Here is a semi-related article for trans life.

I read that article onTRE, lots of good info thanks for that!
honestly the i was looking at doing the 2.3+ Electronic Boost controller and thinking about having Tom @ TSCOMP tune the car.
Longevity of the motor does concern me

I have a ER 2.3LR around +650WHP 480TQ with all stock drivetrain except a exedy triple. I haven't launched it or anything just 2nd 3rd 4th gear pulls. No grinds or anything my 1st gear is a tiny bit notchy but other then that no problems and around 1000 miles on the build since September
