HELP evo 8 low Power question

so I just got my car tuned from db performance here in Minnesota. It's an Evo 8 2.4l e85 FP black. The car only made 365 and they're saying its because it has a 1g dsm bov on it and the bov is restricting it? Can someone explain from research this build should be 500+.

1g bov is plastic if I'm not mistaken. They hold no boost well. Get yourself a good bov and it should hold boost fine for your build.

I assume you are not running a maf. If so, get a tial and call it a day with a re tune. That 1g DSM bov prob leaks like crazy. Heck even a crushed 9 bov hold better than a plastic bov.

the 1g bov is metal but looks it doesn't hold much boost

Another question.. Since I'm kinda broke atm. So If I replace the bov with another one that could hold higher boost would I be able to just turn up the boost without getting the car retuned?

Honestly you chose the shop that they tuned you as it is.they knew it's not gonna work but kept tuning. Saddens me when you simply want customers money only.

not always the case. people go in with their mods already installed for a tune. they tune it as it sits so it isnt really their fault imo. the owner of the vehicle should know what he has or should i say it is the owners responsibility to do all checks prior to tuning. check it here: http://www.dbptuning.com/main/dyno-checklist/

Especially a leak test. plus, why would anyone go to get tuned with OP build on a stock 1G DV?

actually came in to have cams/springs installed+tune and did ask for a leak test prior to tune car was there for over a week but yes was my fault not knowing about the limits of the bov.

The BOV should have leaked if they were doing a boost leak test to proper pressures.
