Building a 2.1 LR ...4G63

Guys...need some advice on building a 2.1 stroker long rod.
I was told that i would need to have some custom pistons made along with custom 153mm rods....is there any easier off the shelf items to do this because custom made is taking too long and too much headache.
The target is 1200WHP..

There are plenty of ways to do it, everyone has their own Idea. You could also run a stock 88mm crank and rev it out with 156mm lightweight rods. Again, many ways to get there.

You don't need 153mm rods, They are just worth a few hundred RPM over 150MM rods in a 94MM/4G63 Engine. At the point you need a custom Piston and big pin, whats a little more money for a better rod /stroke ratio . You can also think about Alum rods since this will be a race engine that will need Frequent service intervals. If each hole is making 300-345hp per hole its not going to live as long as an engine thats making much less . Its still nice to have light/strong parts in the engine but its not going to live forever at 1200whp.

If 1200whp is really your goal then thats pushing Shelf parts/smaller pins pretty hard. At the point you are building a Max effort engine, you should have Max effort components.

thoughts on the 94mm crank with 150mm rods and 2.3 pistons/1.13 comp height ?
I should be able to rev a bit higher and the engine life should be longer..?

you can do:

1. stock 88 mm crank, 156 mm rods, 86 mm bore, giving 2050 cc
2. 94 mm crank, 153 mm rods, various pistons available for this setup
3. 94 mm crank, 156 mm rods with manley pistons for this setup... AFAIK only manley has this although it might be that there are some from CP too or you can go for fully custom piston.

For a 4G63 block You wouldn't want to do a 94/156mm rod since that would be under 1.130 compression height. This would leave you with a shorter weaker piston, The last thing you want in a max effort engine. Most engine builders/tuners/piston manufactures are aware of this.

true.... for the target power lever 88 mm crank, 86 mm bore and 156 rods should do the trick.. plenty of parts off the shelf..
