Cams equivalent or similar to gsc s1

Anything out there there that's comparable to the GSC s1 cams?

Not looking to swap valve springs.

I've read some run kelford 272s on stock springs...

What else is out there ?

My buddie was about to sell me some s2s and springs but it all fell through .

I've heard of some people running the Kelfords on stock springs but it's definitely not recommended. Any reason why you don't want to upgrade springs?

for reference I had full bolts-ons then did the kelfords with supertech single springs and retainers, awesome upgrade.

money and time.
I'd leave the stock cams before doing the springs at this point. Just don't want to buy more tools, my small project has gone over budget already and i just need to get it back together at this point too.

But id like to at least pop some cams in

I thought you had GSC S1 and were trying to sell them? Any problem with them since I think they are great cams without having to modify springs etc

I sold them cause my buddie was selling me his s2 cams and springs for dirt cheap.

He backed out on me, and now I just need to get this thing back together .

Wish I just installed the s1 cams

As far as the over budget, I purchased a used FP black for good money that turned out to need a rebuild. Got a pretty raw deal...

Designed for a rev range of 3000-8000rpms, these cams work well on the stock valve springs. 300-450whp camshaft. Idle is slightly rougher than stock. Made 100% In The USA
You dont have to change the springs as long as you have factory beehives (which all evo 8/9 USA cars do)

Personally I regret swapping cams on my Evo 9. Whatever turbo you run should cover whatever little bit of power you were looking for in the first place with different cams.

I have S2 that im selling cheap on a car. I have ran S2 with no spring and ran them hard on a stock block car. If you arent going to be reving over 7500 RPM I wouldnt worry about it but on a larger turbo I'd rather have the springs to take advantage of the power band.

This car has an FP Black but gets reved to 7800 RPM at the track only. Also 9s do pretty well with out cams on an FP black though I'd prob get cams.

I ended up finding some used kelford 272s from a seller on here.

I don't think I can even use the black to its full potential on 93 octane anyways, but I don't plan on raising the rev limit beyond stock.
Goal is low 400 wheel on the same dyno I made 300 wheel on with bolt ons

Not that it may help you now, but as someone else posted the stock springs are fine with the S1's. I've been running them for 60k miles with no issues, but I don't rev it up for every shift so depending on your type of driving stock or upgraded is your call.
Good luck getting back on the road.
