Running with the AFR too rich causes misfires.

Need to measure fuel pressure first (only because everyone gets it wrong), then measure AFR under load.

i do not have an afr installed yet,

my guess is its over boosting as it seem the previous owner had a boost controller fitted in and then decided to pull it out before the sale as the hoses appear to be after market.

im now riding on the belief that my issue is indeed a fuel cut.

If you get a p0300 but no identification as to what cylinder chances are the engine isn't misfiring. The car has a lot of vibration coming back from the drive train, often enough to change the engine speed sufficiently to set a CEL. The early 8's contained a subroutine that would shut off fuel to one after another cylinders as it searched for the offending cylinder. This would be the stumble you feel.

I'm not going to detail the fix but it amounts to removing this test from the ECU.

Edit: Please be advised, ordinarily the problem I've described occurs in cruise at around 3000 rpm, not at WOT.

good morning my evoM homies, i have officially fixed my missfire/fuel cut by installing a hks evc-s boost controller, the boost is now set at 1.5 bar and holds boost through out he rev range all the way to redline.

this is the first time ive actually had the pleasure of enjoying my evo since i bought it and it is phenomenal, car is insane, i love awd boost.
