Do you eliminate the throttle sensor? I talked to AL and he thinks its the throttle sensor. The strangest thing happen on weekend when I was a Boost Solution with George. He put the AEM EMS with base map in car and the RPM didn't rise.

Could the problem be a bad ECU? I had the problem before DYNOFLASH and After but this still won't fix the ECU.

Can anyone who knows someone with AEM EMS try to see if the problem no longer occurs with AEM base EVO map. The RPM rising can be inconstitent at times so the problem may not have occured during the short test.

Speedlimit...
Yes, I have boost gauge but didn't notice anything abnormal with boost. I will try to check the bypass valve when I go to Boost Solutions this week.

Sorry! Let us know what the problem was when you find a solution. Good luck!

snoop, it definitely is an intermittent problem that's for sure.

Speedlimit, I doubt I'll ever figure it out. (sigh)

I have the same issue and am running a forge recirculating valve and a burschur mbc. In my case the issue only occurs when near full boost at part throttle... does it in 3rd and 4th mostly. I have been running this setup for a couple of months and the problem did not start at the same time as the mods.... and it does seem worse when the engine is not heat soaked, hence the reason i think it is a lube issue with the forge valve.

FWIW, if I am at full throttle when i hit the shift the problem does not occur, only part throttle high boost (15-19 psi or so)...

Anoying as hell, makes people think you are trying to powershift.

mad_VIII, it's kinda like if you were to leave you foot on the gas after getting right past the clutch disengagement point right?

I cleaned and re-lubed my Forge d/v and that didn't help. I suppose if the pressure wasn't be properly 'diverted' by the d/v, it could cause the throttle plate to hang up for 1/2 a second, which would in fact cause this problem, but then again there are stock cars doing this as well. I have had the intake and d/v on for too long to remember if it started before or after for me. I'm fairly certain it was after but that doesn't mean those mods have anything to do with it.

If I can't fiquire out the problem and may need to return my car to stock for warranty work. This problem is not related to the mods but a factory part not working right.

Has anyone called and talked to EVO tech. The problem may have been fixed before by .

snoop, the hardest part will be getting a tech person to duplicate the issue. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

Noize it's not the d/v, people are getting this with a stock d/v also.

Talking Talked to Mitsu tech on the phone

Called

The tech said he believe the over rev is a result of the Throttle postion sensor being out of adjustment. The way to check is to read the ECU to see if the sensor is not alinged. The tech I called was very cool and helpful. He has a modified eclipse himself with 500HP. His advice is to return my car to stock for warranty work since the car may be banned at all if they feel my mods led to the car having problems.

I will be at Boost Solution on friday and will try to see If can fix the problem.

I wanted to give this a bump to see if anyone has more information.

My evo has this symptom - the motor is all stock except for TB exhaust. It is noticable rapidly shifting 3-4 or 4-5 at WOT near the redline. It felt to me like the clutch was not disengaging immediately when the clutch pedal is depressed. I took out the clutch restrictor to see if that would help, but it made no difference.

It is not that big a deal, but it is embarrassing when you are an instructor on a road track giving a ride to your student and it seems that you don't know how to use the clutch properly!!! Not very confidence-inspiring.
