Exedy Twin Disc Jerking when slowing down and downshifting into 2nd

Twin Disc Exedy in my 05 Evo, rebuilt drivetrain like 10k miles ago by Gingerneering

So Ill try to illustrate it the best I can..

So Ill go from 3rd to 2nd turning into a parking lot, Ill rev up the car by blipping the throttle before slowly releasing the clutch and 99% of the time its just a smooth transaction, but if I dont do that, I want to say about 80% of the time its smooth, and the other 20% it will 'buckle' 'shake' 'jerk'.
Ill be at like 4k rpms when I do shift and Ill try to match those RPMS before releasing clutch.

Sometimes this will happen going from 2nd to 1st as well, say turning into a parking lot (not gonna be going super fast).

Been driving manuals for most of my life, this car is probably the only one I have ever had to babysit during downshifts with rev matching lol.

I know the ETD can be noisy when going from a stop and will stutter sometimes if I dont ride/slip the clutch, but that is something ive gotten used to.

Not sure if this is normal for Twin disc or Evo drivetrains in general?

Thanks ahead!

Evo drivetrain requires smoothness and finesse for the car to drive smooth. And then you put a racing clutch in it, which requires even more finesse... So, yeah, if you don't babysit it, and perfectly rev match, it's going to be less than smooth. The Evo is more a toned down race car than high performance street car, and it behaves as such. Its not a Honda civic, and will never drive like one.

I knew babysitting would be needed, but probably not as much as I thought

I am a lot more active with my rev matching though

I just wasnt expected the 'violent' (from link above) engagements if done 'wrong' lol

I figured it was just the car being normal, wanted to clarify
Thanks!

I have the same problems in my 6-speed shep built trans.

The flywheel is so light you really need to rev match it. The RPM on my car falls off so fast.

Ive had my exedy twin in for 20k miles. This is a constant problem with it. Sometimes you can adjust at the pedal for a better release sometimes you have to get the flywheel resurfaced or a rebuilt clutch. Thats the nature of these twins. If you daily your evo like me its gonna be a headache

It's normal, the clamping force of the clutch is good and the driveshaft also causes the buckles, u can feel it more if u have stock 3 piece driveshaf.
When you downshift u have to rev match so u don't shock the drivetrain and damage it in the long run.
