FTO 1.8 on running on 1 cylinder
Hi I race a 1995 FTO 1.8 single overhead cam. Last time out (after qualifying at the front gutted) suddenly went onto just running on No 1 cylinder. I bought a spare running car for spares, I've taken the ecu coil packs coil booster pack, cam and crank sensor of my car with the problem to the spare car it runs fine!. I've run a separate earth withe to the ecu, and coil booster box, still nothing. I have spark on 1 and 4, injection of fuel on 1 and 2. weirdest problem

A 4 cylinder engine won't run on just 1 cylinder.
It's more likely it's dropped one or 2 cylinders.
With evoscan you should be able to turn off injectors one at a time to find out which cylinders are dead.
What's the coil booster box?
Is that an aftermarket add on?

Hi Thanks for your answer, but it is definitely only running on No1, in injecting fuel on 1 and 2 no spark on 2 and 3 spark on 1 and 4, you have to have a lot of throttle to keep it running on 1.
that's why I have posted on here as it is such a strange fault?

just to let anyone out there with a similar fault, blue cable in the loom between the coil packs and coil booster box had broken sending feedback to the ECU stopping injectors 3 and 4 and coils to 2 and 3, local garage with an oscilloscope found it.
