Question 2.5" Screamer Pipe to a 3" Downpipe??

Hi

Is it possible to fit a 2.5 inch screamer pipe (like one below in the picture) to a 3 inch down-pipe?? Is it possible or not at all

The car is a Evo 8 with a stock turbo.

Thanks in Advance

I'm not sure why you're concerned about this. It doesn't need to be that big.

The dump tube doesn't need to be 2.5".

Unless that's not what you're asking.

In which case any O2 housing such as what's pictured will work with any down pipe that is meant for the stock O2 housing, which is basically all of them unless it meant for a turbo kit.

Oh sorry if i was not clear. I was talking about the side that connects on to the down pipe. Will i be able to fit a 2.5 inch side onto a 3 inch down pipe?.

He answered that question already. If it's a stock O2 housing replacement (dump or no dump) it will bolt up to a stock or aftermarket downpipe (2.5" or 3") that's meant to bolt up to the stock O2 housing.

What is your exhaust connected to now?

from the stock turbo, 3” invidia 02 housing to down pipe and n1 catback

picked up a external dump pipe but didn’t fit onto my down pipe so this confused the hell out of me because I couldn’t find any that actually fits a 3” downpipe

You would need to replace your existing O2 housing to put an external dump, you can't just slap a pipe on. You would need an O2 housing with a divorced wastegate dump tube, like what's pictured in the first post. Your downpipe will bolt up. If it doesn't you got something strange going on under the front of your car.

No, you don't need to find a 3" O2. ANY stock replacement O2 housing will fit ANY stock replacement downpipe. If you're worried about the 2.5" connection from the O2 housing, don't be - the donut gasket that's there fills in the half inch of space when you bolt up the 3" downpipe.

fmd I didn’t know the donut gasket makes the 3” downpipe fit
you sir are a legend!

I always thought you’d need a 3” external dump (that replaces my 3” invidia 02 housing to fit the down pipe.
so pretty much the gasket let’s it fit anyway even though it’s a 2.5” outlet

brah. No wonder I couldn’t find any on the market with that size
thank you kindly !

The pipe is 3". The flange is meant for the stock donut gasket/flange.
