2005 evo viii acd problem
Hi all, I am new to this forum, and I am glad to know so many guys love EVO!
I just bought a EVO VIII, but now my EVO VIII got all three ACD lights on, and the error code is ‘81’, which means there might be a relay problem (and I tested the ACD pump by myself — it will working if you directly charge it by 12v battery). However, I searched online and find nothing about it. Is there anyone met this kind of problem? I am in FL, is there any great EVO shop to recommend? Any suggestions will be appreciated!
On the other hand, I bought a non-ACD transfer case for my EVO as a backup. Bad things always happen — when I tried to replace the center diff as a QUAIFE center LSD, I found I cannot use this part as a direct replacement for the OEM VISCOUS LSD. Is there anyone had successfully replace the center LSD as QUAIFE center LSD? Any reply will be helpful!

Hey, Welcome to the boards @INLUSIVE
Ive got a 9 w/ACD but have not had the privilege of having to mess w/an error. I certainly like your idea of just eliminating it w/non ACD center diff (less BS. Keep it simple)
Hoping the other members can offer some constructive advice on how to proceed?
Cheers, Joe

Thanks for your reply! Yah I totally agree your idea — I hate the drama caused by electrical component. However, I am still interesting in ACD system, which is almost the best AWD system back to that time. So, I am willing to fix it and at least, I can drive an EVO with ACD for once. After that, I will swap the nonACD transfer case into my EVO for a long time keep.

is the pump just spinning or is it producing pressure?

Also, if you get three lights on right after starting the car it is the pump pressure sensor problem. Pump problem manifests itself as 3 lights after some 15 sec or so..

The thing is: The three lights always on, from ignition on till start the engine. By the way, I had already failed using throttle to activate the ACD pump when ignition on. Thus, I thought there must be some electrical (relay) problem.
