Evo 8 overboosting

Evo 8 overboosting
How are we all?
I have an evo 8 GSR tuned stock ecu on e85. Recently put in a KOYO rad and a mishimoto low temp Tstat. With the weather being around 25 to 30 deg C (im in australia) the gauge needle is in the lower 1/4 on the gauge. When its at that temp it seems to not be controlling boost at all and going to 30+ PSI, with the car a little hotter (midrange on the gauge approx) its controlling boost perfectly fine.
has anybody else had this issue and is it something that can be fixed within the ecu..
Thanks.

What type of boost control are you using? Ive been running a manual boost control. A couple of years ago, my MBC was very difficult to adjust. I think the spring got weak or possibly some debris i couldnt clean out. I ended up replacing it with a new MBC and my adjustments went back to being easy and predictable.
If your running electronic controller, I cant help there. It never hurts checking vac/boost lines for kinks or cracks tho.

There was another thread recently with a similar problem where boost level was not consistent. His EBC was the problem. I would suggest plumbing the boost refrence directly to the wastegate to check if you consistently get gate boost. If you do, chances are your EBC is the problem.
