Headers/Turbo Manifold

Installed aftermarket headers the other day...and failed to take into account the heat generated by those pipes!
My concern is the radiator hose; right by one of those runners.
Anybody have a solution for this?
Was focusing on how to protect that radiator hose. Silicone hose is on the way, but I think that's not enough. Was looking at those steel-braided "sleeves" you can wrap over the hose - but I think its just for show. Might even generate more heat I think.
Trying to avoid wrapping the headers (don't ask why)...however, that could be my last resort.
You guys have any ideas on how to protect the radiator hose?....
or a heat shield that would accomodate aftermarket headers?
Thanks in advance

There isnt any heat sheild to kit and after market header, except the shield that comes with the hks turo kit. Only way is to wrap the header or have it jet coated.

thanks for replying/
yeah..like i've said, wrapping those headers would be my last resort, i guess.
you've got headers too? did you wrap them? heard that wrapped headers are prone to cracking sooner bec. of trapped heat (but what aftermarket product lasts anyway?!?!?!)
cool...tnx again

just heat wrap your radiator hose...or get a steel braided radiator hose...not just the cover.

Ceramic coat the headers, build a heatshield out of sheet aluminum. Or Demon Tweaks in the UK has some fancy sandwich aluminum materials that make great heatshields - I haven't seen these in North America but they may be available somewhere.

Those demon tweaks sheets do look cool and are designed for protecting the underside of race cars form their VERY hot exhausts. You could also swap the rubber hose for a steel one. I have seen it done on the RnR car with their turbo kit. Looks pretty cool. Don’t know about the heat transfer though, but you could always heat wrap the steel water pipe instead of the headers.

Thanks Chris

We build an upper radiator hose kit. It is made of polished SS and looks great under the hood. You also won't have to worry about the heat. PM if you need pricing
