If you just want the sound, I was amazed the difference an intake makes. Just get one like the Bushur one for 80 bucks...you can clearly hear the BOV and turbo after installing....if you want a preview, take the air filter cover off the stock intake box and go for a drive.

Yup, I second that. I have the HKS RS intake kit and the stock BOV is LOUD!

turbosmart dualport from what i understand is set at 50/50 vta/recirc

with flange it is about the same price as gfb stealth
so i'd pick one based on adjustability and experience others had with either unit

i got the gfb cuz you can adjust the sound louder/quieter and change the spring preload very easy(just rotate the top)
i'm happy with it
hope this helps

i agree with sean. the GFB Stealth FX is the way to go if you want a fully adjustable quality bov. i run this on my Evo also and it's great. if you're going to spend the money on a bov. get the good stuff right off the back. its a good $300 or so. but well worth it imho. in California you could contact Mike at MPJ Performance. heres a link to their site >

I got my wife the Turbosmart for her WRX and don't think it is adjustable as the GFB. Furthermore, it is definitely not as loud as the GFB, even with it set to be as loud as it can be. It is not a bad BOV, just not as cool as the GFB.

I also installed the Turbosmart Dual Port BOV and so far it's good from what I can tell. I also installed a HKS Mega Flow intake the same day, so I did no testing with each part seperately. The BOV has been set to maximum spring tension for about a week and there haven't been any stalling issues so far. I think i might loosen the tension though a little because I can feel some surge once in a while.

Turbosmart now has an Evo Specific Dual Port, so you don't need an adapter. You actually don't need an adapter in the first place. I have an old one, and was able to get the hose on, it just took me a bit. Anyway, the GFB has smaller inlet and outlet than the Dual Port. It is definatly the best BOV on the market for and MAF car, especially the 4G63's. The BOV is loud, but no too loud. Thankfully it doesn't whistle, it has a nice rushing air noise.

Beyondlimitsevo - you don't want that BOV at maximum spring tension, you want the BOV as light as possible without causing cavitation.
