Axis racing dyno results (dyno dynamics)

Hey guys,

Went for some dyno tuning over at Axis racing today, on their dyno dynamics dynometer, here are the results:

Pump gas 311.1 HP @ 6200 RPM and 311 lb/ft of torque @ 4250 RPM.

My peak power was at 6200 RPM and my boost at that point on the graph was 20 psi. The torque peak at 4250 RPM was at 22 psi of boost. I was spiking up to 23 psi and droping to 19 psi by redline.

Then I swaped over to the race gas and loaded in my race gas map, results:

332.8 HP @ 6000 RPM and 333 lb/ft of torque @ 4170 RPM.

At the peak power point of 6000 RPM I was making 21.5 psi of boost and at the peak torque point of 4170 RPM I was making 25 psi of boost. I was spiking up to 25 psi and droping down to 20 by redline.

Keep in mind these numbers are all on a Dyno dynamics dynometer like the one Shiv uses, commonly called "the heart breaker" dyno.... well, lets just say my heart isn't broken

Using Shivs "dyno equalizer" programe I am making 435 HP at the flywheel on pump gas (equivelent to 366 wheel HP on a dynojet or dynapack) and 466 HP at the flywheel on race gas (equivelent to 392 wheel HP on dynojet or dynapack) . Oh, and with the cat that would be 452 HP at the flywheel on race gas (equivelent to 380 wheel HP on a dynojet or Dynapack)

Keith

PS: What is the stock turbo record on a DD type dyno?

PPS: After I finished tuning I threw the cat back on and did a couple more runs: 322 HP @ 6000 RPM. What is the DD stock turbo with a CAT record ?

assuming that DD was calibrated/set up just like Vishnu's, those are excellent numbers. what's your set-up?

more annoying questions : what kind of A/F's were you running on the pump and race maps? what octane race gas? and of course do you have charts?

good stuff

I will post charts when I get them scanned latter tonight.

For pump gas I was running 11.5:1 A/F ratio and 12.5:1 on the race gas. For me, pump gas is 94 octane and the race gas I use is 105 AKI octane unleaded (101 MON 109 RON) called "VP racing MS 109". I run the unleaded to protect my wide band O2 sensor and so I can run a CAT most of the time.

My setup is the full Buschur Racing stage 4 with the AEM EMS switched over to speed density and using HKS 272 cams and HKS cam gears.

Later,

Keith

PS: These conversion numbers also agree with my dynojet equivelent power estimates based on my trap speed (111 mph on pump 113 mph on race fuel) and the weight of my car (race weight of 3400 lbs) when pluged into this page:
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/dyno.htm
So I am pretty confident that the Axis racing dyno is set up like Shiv's.

Congrats, that is very good numbers on a DD dyno. This is the same dyno we use and it can be a heart breaker at times. Glad it wasn't for you. Keep up the good work.

i thought there would have been more HP coming from the BR stage 4 with a stand alone.still not bad for pump gas.

At 93 octane thats about the same horsepower that a Vishnu stage 1+ car on C16 makes. Granted, Vishnu doesn't make an intercooler or intake.

Careful when comparing dyno results from two different dynos. They don't necessarily read the same. But good numbers nonetheless.

Stage 1+ cars are trapping 113mph also and that is with 310 whp on Shivs dyno. Either way your car is still fast and if both dynos happen to be congruent with each other an 11 sec timeslip is in your future if you haven't already accomplished that feat.OUT!

Shiv
2nd that.

If Axis dyno reads the same as Vishnu's, then your traps should be:113 on pump and 115 on racemap. (Not 111 and 113)

Or were those just your estimates, Keith??

Either way, nice numbers.

Just an FYI. 258whp EVO ran 12.7@107. Our dyno reads fairly low. Those are great numbers. I think there is a bit more power in that car.
