Ultimate-Racing's 3" Hi-Flow Cat & CEL?

I just had UR's 3" downpipe & 3" hi-flow cat put on today, and on the way back home from driving on the highway, my CEL came on.

Is this normal?
How do I make the CEL go away?
Does having the CEL come on affect performance?

Now I don't have an aftermarket exhaust yet, so it's just bolted to my stock exhaust system right now, but my Greddy exhaust should be here on Friday. Would that affect it?

The high-flow cat affected the reading at the O2 sensor and triggering the CEL. The catback will not solve the issue, so you'll probably need an O2 simulator at the bung. The performance should not be affected at all, but you should still get it fixed in case something really wrong happens in the future.

My friend had his UR test pipe installed and had no CEL problem. Johnson himself guarantees no CEL for both testpipe and hi-flow cat. Perhaps you should check with him or Darryl.

By the way, do you notice a performance gain? How does it sound?

I have gotten a CEL w/ the UR high flow cat too and I don't think it is normal. Go to your local parts store and have them clear the code. I have never noticed a decrease in performance with the light on.
