doesn't have a problem,does it?
Good point. I have no idea. I just regurgitated some **** i read. I will find the link.

Maybe it is from someone trying to sell you something better(LOL).Sell,Sell,Sell!!!!!!!!!!!
It should have no effect on your abs,Its not a "Locked" front diff, its Limited slip, but if it were a locked front diff, then that would be another story all together.

I am currently running a front LSD on my Evo with ABS. It's not a problem because the diff is a torsen-type so it is open when there is no torque sensed.
Cheers,

I believe the urban jungle package does not add ABS, only PW, PL, and AC.

Cheers,
Are you actually running a torsen?

It was in sport compact car mag.

"It's not surprising the ABS was deleted with the addition of the helical LSD up front. After all, making ABS work along with three limited-slip differentials is a neat engineering trick that, so far, can only be accomplished with an active center diff. But deletion of the ABS probably also let Mitsu drop enough cost out of the RS to be able to pay for the new diff and still knock the total MSRP down under $27K."

That article is BS, a front torsen does not react with ABS when on steady state or deceleration. wtz's experience only backs this up.

Considering the person that wrote that article is getting his informations from a Mitsubishi press release, it doesn't have much validity in my mind.

I think it wasn't front LSD. I think it was the ACD that would play havoc on the ABS...
How it works is our car come with Brembo brakes that have some electronic force distribution system that distributes the braking force to each brake, just like the a car with all differential distributes power to each individual wheel. Going through a turn with both of these activated would try to bypass each other making the car utterly unpredictable.

It's possible you're right. However the Evo front diff is helical and not torsion like WTZ's so that could come into play.

I thought a helical and a torsen were the same thing?

Ugh, a helical diff is a torsen-type.

From webster dictionary:

tor·sion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (tôrshn)
n.

The act of twisting or turning.
The condition of being twisted or turned.
The stress or deformation caused when one end of an object is twisted in one direction and the other end is held motionless or twisted in the opposite direction.

NOT THE SAME AS

TORSEN Torque-Sensing (Gleason differential that biases torque)

Needless to say, wtz's TORSEN front diff (which is also a helical) works fine with ABS both on the street and on the track.
