Length on JDM vs. USDM exhaust?

Anybody that knows about how much difference there is between a JDM and a USDM exhaust? If I'm not mistaking a JDM exhaust is slightly shorter due to different design of the rear bumper? The reason I'm asking is that I'm considering buying a US made exhaust and since my VII would be the same as the JDM version I would like to have my exhaust a bit shorter so it doesn't stick out to far.

Thanks,

All I know is that the JDM is the same lenght as the stock Evo8 exhaust. US version are bit longer sometimes sticking out of the bumper. If the put the US version on an Evo7, it will stick out like around 2".

the usdm and jdm actually has the same length its just that the usdm bumper is slightly bigger than the jdm.thats why when somebody buys a jdm exhaust for the usdm evo it tends to burn the bumper.but if you do get a usdm exhaust for your evo youre gonna have to bring it to a muffler shop to trim off some of the piping.or just stick with the jdm exhaust so you can save money that way

Thanks,
If you get a USDM exhaust you'll also have a second o2 sensor bung to plug up.

yup thats why the first batches of jdm exhaust that came before was burning the bumpers so some of the guys had to add an extension on the piping.or like with the jic that came with adjustable tip on their exhaust so its pass the bumper.

EVOVII_SWE,
The usdm bumper is 4.5cm longer than ours. Factor that into your choice of exhaust.

Many thanks jemm I have not decided yet, I might stay with my HKS Hiper even if it's not stainless. I was looking at RnR's stainless cat back with HKS carbon/Ti muffler and they said they could make one a tad shorter specifically for me if I wanted
