EGT gauges are pretty useless as a tuning feedback device. If you see a high EGT, it could be too much fuel, too little fuel, too much timing advance or too little timing advance. So WTF do you change?

It is ok as a warning to get the f off the gas, though.

I've gone a whole lot faster since I got rid of my EGT gauge, though. I haven't worried about it, and my engine is fine.

2nd most important gaugenext to boost is definitely oil pressure. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Oil pressure is currently 3rd behind EGT in the poll though...

Oh my GOD!

The people who voted in the poll for EGT are wrong.

I wonder how many people who voted for EGT actually have one or actually use one. It is a nice gauge to look at, though. It has some good rice appeal, too. It sounds like it is exotic. And it is expensive. And it makes you sound important when you say you have one. So it must be the most important gauge to have.

For those with heavy fuel system mods, a fuel pressure guage is important. Ive seen many problems associated with fuel pressure and it helps in diagnosing.

So what is the difference between a wideband O2 sensor guage and an EGT and/or air/fuel gauge?

I saw Oil Press is damn important but EGT takes the cake. If all A/F gauges were accurate than Id say A/F.

EGT would be good. Especially if you could install one sensor for each cylinder.

Oil temp is nice because it's not good to start fully boosting a turbocharged engine until the oil temp is up to normal operating temp. Here at WORKS we refrain from full boost until the oil temp reaches approximately 60C. Typically oil temp will reach normal operating temp about 3 times longer than it takes for the coolant to reach normal operating temp.
Remember that the oil is the blood of the engine.
