Nology hotwires for the EVO

Pardon my ignorance, but I just bought a set of hotwires for my evo and was wondering why it says it's for the EVO 7 on it?? I would appreciate some input on if it is supposed to say EVO 7 or EVO 8. Thanks

EVO7 and EVO8 is basically same car in Japan. They only have some minor changes...
Please update us on how your new Nology wires perform.

Yes, I also would like to know if they make a difference...I have heard conflicting things about the Nology Hotwires...some people say they work, but others say they are just snake oil...please let us know how they work for you...

I bought it from a guy on this forum for $150 shipped. They were suppose to be brand new, but the package was opened when I got it. The last time I checked Vividracing, they had them for $170, but now I think it's around $160 something. If I saw the new VR price I would have got that instead since you know it is the right product and it brand new. But this should work out. I am getting these installed with NGK plugs on Thursday. I will post to this thread about the results after I pick the car up.

Don't you want to try them with your current spark plugs to see any difference before switching them out? So you know it's not the new spark plugs that helps with better performance. Yeah, it is extra work, but it only involved taking the spark plugs wires cover off (4 bolts)

IMO I would not use them. We just had to remove a set off of an evo because the Nology coils and wire could not provide the spark plugs with enough power causing them to blow out under boost. We went back to stock setup and car worked perfect again with out any problems. IMO I would use the HKS twin power DLI.

I use the HKS DLI II wiht Magnacore wires and it runs very smooth. Not sure about Gains, but I am sure I have a good spark!

I also have the 8.0mm Magnecore plug wires with Denso Iridiums. I didn't notice that much difference, maybe at idle but that's it. But with 272 cams at idle it's still stumbly. :P
