How much would the HKS SSQV take?

I'm wondering how much power and boost the SSQV could take? When is it time to move to something bigger/stronger? And what is out there when you need something else?

Let's put it this way...you'd blow up your engine long before you'd need to replace the SSQV...it'll hold all the boost you can throw at it...

yeah.....i have both stock and ssq mounted...the only thing i need to do when i wanna race is swicth the hoses .....from the stock to the ssq.....its cool because then on work days i can drive withthe comfort of the stocker and on the weekends alli have to do is loosen one clamp and switch hoses...

I left the stock valve in the intake boot with the hose and a cap at the end then i have the ssq running out of the ic pipe with a second hose.....whenever i get fed up with the fluttering i switch and when i get fed up with the loss of boost i switch again.....its a 5 min thing it only involved switching the vaccum hose and ic hose.....but u need to purchase a second ic hose for the second valve

Well, if that’s the case why does HKS sell the Racing BOV Type II as well? I’ll be running the ATP 3071 kit with cams, cam gears, full 3” exhaust, Motec stand alone ECU with anti lag and launch control so I think I’ll push it to some extent at least I have forged rods and pistons as well as all ARP bolts so I think my engine is pretty strong

What about the Greddy Type R?

The HKS racing BOV takes so much boost to open it. I have a buddy with one on his Supra and just under normal driving it won't open. He has compressor surge all the time.

I've seen that too, might be a thing to look at. I'll start with the one I have and see if it's ok, if not I'll put some more energy into this.

Thanks,
