Change my metal head gasket?
Hey does anybody out there have a stroker kit in their EVO? If so, question, I have a 1.2mm head gasket (HKS)with my stock internals. By Christmas (because I've been a good boy ) going to get a stroker kit put in.(JUN's ) do I need to change the gasket to a say: 1.6 or maybe even a 2mm Or am good as is?

I think you have to change the head gasket everytime you take the head off, but I am not 100% sure. As the gasket is heavily compressed when installed (torque for the head bolts is 100Nm), putting the same one back may give you lack of sealing there...
However, the thickness of the head gasket depends on your turbo; the bigger the turbo, the less compression you should run, and therefore the thicker a head gasket you need.
If you are keeping the standard turbo, then I would simply get another 1.2mm head gasket.
I have a JUN stroker kit with a 1mm head gasket. The pistons are low compression already; unless I get too much knock, I will keep the standard head gasket thickness. Mapping is due on Oct 22nd; I will be able to tell you more about the required head gasket for standard turbo then.

Thank you for the fast reply...I eventually will go to larger turbo but not sure which one yet maybe HKS 3037s or GREDDY T67 both use ext. wastegate which are illegal here but there ways around that Any recomendations for larger turbine with actuator? I heard good things about the new HKS GT series but they have only released it for just SR20 and RB26engines
PS. did you change the HEAD bolt also?? DO you recommend doing so?? I heard the stock bolt are pretty strong but not sure if they can withstand the larger trbo at higher boost
