Espelir JGT 500 Review
Very nice exhaust. It's lighter than the stock (my estimate is around 15lbs lighter).
The mid section starts out a tiny bit over 2.5in than to 3in than to I think 2in or little more at the resonator than back to 3in exiting. (all are inside diameter not outside)
The back section (muffler section) is full 3in.

The exhaust is designed this way to be 50 state legal.
The system is pretty loud, a bit louder than I would like.
But, install the silencer and it's quieter than the stock exhaust. In fact, it's too quiet. Espelir went little too far with the tiny hole silencer but it's damn quiet even when you floor it. I'm thinking of drilling some holes on the silencer.
Install time for me working alone is 1 hour. Best way to install is to install the back part of the exhaust first than the mid-section since the cat will be held in place by the DP hangers and the muffler by the back three hangers.
Overall, if you want a street legal exhaust that looks nice and can be quieter than a normal Evo with the silencer installed, this is the one to get.
Evo's chasis is pretty stiff, lift one side of the back and the other side is off the ground (last pic).

Hey Jacky,
I got the Blue Evo and I'm usually part next the the Stonestown movie theatre.
It sounds good but little too loud. With the silencer, you don't hear anything except rush of air coming out of the exhaust when to floor it.

Ok.
Feel free to drop by the theatre any time if you see my car.
If you ever want to go to the track on Wednesdays to do 1/4 mile run, let me know. My friend went their with his black Evo and ran 13.6 at 99 mph. Maybe one day we can all go together.

Cool Sim,
I followed your how-to on the Helix DP and it was great, esp since I'd never done any exhaust mods. Right now I have the RT HF cat too (which does look like a resonator or test pipe, lol) and stock intermediate pipe with Bushur AB. My next plan is to get a full catback, maybe the Helix.
I bet the Helix is dang loud, but it does have the silencer as well. Now I'm a little worried since I don't want a loud exhaust, I actually got a ticket for my Bushur Axle back that I beat in court.
Did you mention performance improvement with this exhaust, even subjective?
Take care,
FB

BTW, nice choice of exhaust. The Espelir exhaust was my other choice when I bought my HKS 30th.
I agree, we definitely need to setup an SF EVO meet! I'm seeing more and more EVOs around SF now.

The Espelir is a great exhaust and like most high quality cat-back, you will notice some power improvements. You might not feel it as much but should see higher trap speed at the track.
Hey Mark,
That was George who went to the track with full exhaust with cat delete only.
Yea, I think we need a SF Evo club soon.

This is why I got the Espelir, street legal, quality, good fitment, and price.
Even with the taper and the resonator, the exhaust is pretty loud compare to an axle back exhaust. The taper and the resonator only represents about 5 to 6% of the the whole exhaust and the rest is full 3in.
Plus, if you ever get stopped by a police for a loud exhaust, your chance of getting away or winning a case is alot easier.
That silencer comes in handy since I'm driving down to Disneyland this week. I can hear myself think while driving for 6 hours. lol
