Synchronizer bad?????

you are mis understanding me, if the pickup point is a half an inch from fully out you will have more time for the synchros to work but you will also be carrying significantly less pressure on the pressure plate.
A clutch is not an on/off switch and it needs travel to allow the pressure plate to come up to full pressure. Trust me, I killed the clutch in the rally car because I thought that I would do this very thing and it was a bad idea. Fortunately the clutch in the cossie is easy to change, not so on an evo.

Greg K is very correct, if adjusted too much, your clutch may seem fine, but will start slipping when you are building peak torque. It will more than likely occur over a period of time hapening gradually, but before you know it you'll have a glazed clutch disc, that will no longer hold. I'd first try the proven remedies like the shorter slave-cylinder rod from lancer shop, or changing your fluids to bg-synchroshift etc. By going either of the previous routes, or even both, you'll spend less money than you would if you glaze your clutch disc, and have to replace it.

Go to mitsubishi and inform them they you are having this synchro problem. I had it as well and my synchros were replaced free of charge, with an after market clutch and all. There is a TSB out for the synchro problem.

better shifting
What clutch do you have? I have the exedy hyper single, and when I put the shorter slave cylinder rod in, I noticed a big diference in engagement, and disengagement. Look at this link: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=85511. The rod is sold here, http://lancershop.com/clutch.htm, and the install directions you can find here:https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=80076. I talked to a few different people who'd done this, and we all experienced improvement. When you do adjust the rod on the clutch pedal, be sure not to go too far, or you will take too much pressure off of the pressure plate, which will inhibit your clutch from engaging fully, hope this helps.

I saw your old post about the gm sync mesh.. Where do I put that at exactly? Bc my RA is grinding and not wanting to go into second gear all the sudden. And someone else said something else about checking my fluids in a resovor by the break fluid resovor.
