transmition *CLANK* noise

does anyone else get a metal clanking noise while driving low rpm normal driving while shifting into gears? I get this noise when i shift with not enough on gas pedal and too quick release of clutch.
Would transmission fluids help?
redline or pennzoil?

Well, I don't have this problem, but I do have more lash in my system them a brand new evo, how much I cannot say. I do get a "clunk" with a mis-matched shift.

I have it too. It's like you can hear all three diffs locking into place. I did it a few times during hard driving, but usually take it easy unless necessary.

I asked a tech at Mitsu, and he said the powertrain can take the abuse of a stock motor, but not a heavily modified engine.

I heard from several owners that do not like the Red Line in the tranny. i have been very happy with Syncromesh in the tranny and OEM in the center and rear. The service department at the dealer even suggested going next door to the Pontiac dealer and buying the Syncromesh. Said it worked better.
