I put Polk 6.5" components in that I had lying around. They sound so much better than the stockers - unfortunately I didn't have anything to replace the parcel speakers, but I run quite a bit of front bias anyway so haven't noticed a big difference. Had to make some spacers too, that was the most fun part of the install

The stockers aren't as bad as my WRX ones were though

On that deck you can control how much bass goes to the front and rear speakers. Just change the cutoff frequency for the fronts so they will only let highs out and it should make it sound alittle better till you get new speakers.

I'm running stock speakers with my Alpine 9835 head unit. It sounds okay. I think it could benefit more with nice aftermarket speakers. I'm not interested in running a big amp and sub.

What do you do if you strip one of those screws? Sand it off? I can't get one of the side brackets off because of that.

are you stripping the threads off the screws, or just rounded off the head?

Bolsen , you should have tried the " Auto EQ " fonction first , and see if the sound was better , with the microphone on the seat belt ( fasten of course ^^ ) around where your head used to be . Just give it a try , this feature is really great for calibrating phases and frequences .

The stock speakers are **** with aftermarket HU... actually, I found that once you go away from ALL OEM, you have to go all the way to have the sound quality as before, but the good news is that then it's better (I spent a week with my HU, speakers, and amp before getting my sub, and trust me, that week was miserable the speakers sounded a million times better, with half the bass) Maybe just upgrading the front speakers and the HU would work... since the rear's are in charge of most of the bass anyway.
