Ebay Evo I Bought Is A Lemon!!
#166
Yeah... I bought my car EVO on ebay... but took the time to go to the dealer and see the car for myself... Talked to the previous owner of the car. But that wasn't helpful... So yeah, over a course of a month, I went through the car with a fine tooth comb and learned a lot of dirty little secrects. You have be careful buying a car like this online. Even though I spent almost a grand just fixing the previous owner's screw ups, I'm still happy with the purchase because it's still almost cheaper than fleet price... But to add insult to injury, the previous owner is on this boards as well...
Anyway, good luck in your case and hopefully justice will be served...

The first thing I would have done was called the Better Business Bureau in your area. They work for you the consumer and could scare some mess into the crappy business that did this to you. Don't even talk to the asses at the place that sold you the car, just call the BBB. F' them.

With that being said, its very doubtful that you will be able to resolve this with the dealer the first time, outside of court (read: your mostlikely going to court). So, basically watch your ***. Remember that everything that you say to the dealer can be used against you, so dont threaten him or his wife. Be relaxed, calm and remember that YOU got screwed and you dont want him to have any way to slide out of this one.
Sorry for the rant, I'm pre-law and thought you might like some advice. Now, go nail this guys *** to the wall.

dude that sucks about your mitsu warranty, some body pissed off that service manager. they only way mitsu can do that to a warranty is if the service manager tells the DPSM about the car and he voids it. sorry to hear about your probs. hope things clear up. and sorry to say you can not get a used car covered under any lemon law.

mitsubishi's system wont show up on carfax, in other words, mistu could have rebuilt a car and it would never be shown on car fax, his vin has been completely restricted through mitsu's dealerlink site, which only dealers can get into.

I bought my evo off ebay also. So far, I'm pretty happy about it. I got what I paid for, which was $21,000. I've had the clutch replaced (expected as much) and I have a broken strut and a wheel bearing that is humming around high speed corners, but so far nothing too majorly wrong with the car. Man I'm sorry to hear you got screwed! Personally, I woulda driven to the location of the car and looked at it first, that's what I did. I drove 10+ hours to D.C. area.
Good luck!

Hey all. Some of you know me, some of you don't. I've been on Supraforums for years now. My Supra was stolen July 20th 2004 and it was time to get something new. JK had his evo which needed work, and he was selling cheap, so I had to take the opportunity to see what the Evo was all about.
The trans is not right and needs some help, but shifts fine. The Nitrous bottle was in the trunk, but turns out it was for an NX (or alike) FMIC chiller. exhaust and DP were on there along with an intake. Other than that, the turbo is stock (and has been) as has the exhaust manifold (Rusty bolts don't lie).
The tires are Falken Azenis. The driver speaker does not work and the TT was kinda hacked in the stock clock location.
I couldnt stand the riced out tail lights and chrome headlights or the 8" wheel well gap, so that was fixed ASAP. Custom header, intake, DP and exhaust are next followed by 272's and a custom turbo setup (All made/fabricated by myself).
Hope to read/reply/post some more once the Evo is all set and on the road.
Later,
Alex W.
