what kind of condition is the car in exterior wise? if the exterior is nice, and the interior is nice, all that needs work is the mechanics, worst case scenerio you pay a few grand $2,000-$4,000 to freshen up the engine and trans, then its like you have a brand new car. i wouldnt say you got totally ripped with the purchase price of $23,500, thats not all that bad

i once bought a car with a blown engine, i just thought the valves were bent, i had the dealership install a new engine, the engine they installed (factory new) had a bad rod bearing, labor wasnt being covered, in the end, i sold the car for more money then what i had into it.

 

"as-is" condition excuse a seller from misinformation or misadvertisement.... if he posted that the car should not have mechanical problems, then tacking a "as-is" at the end doesnt excuse him from giving you an evo with problem tranny... "report to ebay" and they will probably cover you.

 

If this car was properly modded and you had every intention to mod it, then you may be okay. 23.5 plus mods is a good deal if in good condition and not abused. Modded does not mean abused.

You bought it - it's yours. These are the risks you take buying online. They didn't do anything wrong, they just advertised the car. Most car companies don't know what mods are and they don't car. They just wanted to move it fast, and did. Fair deal.

 

Ok, I don't feel like reading all of the information in this thread. I'm in the car business.

On your buyers guide, there is a warranty column, typically with manufacuturers warranty, dealer warranty, or as/is no warranty. If the "manufacturers warranty still applies" was selected they have to take the vehicle back.

I would never buy a used car i couldn't test drive first. Get your money back and look for another Evo. 75 shot NOS on a Evo motor.
