HKS claims the Titanium is their top of the line model but I think it should be because of its weight and material? What about the Hi power and 30th Anniversary exhaust, you think they are much different in performance and sound? Im thinking they should have the same bend design but just different matierial.....I like Greddy but I heard its louder than HKS and more $$.

I believe the only difference between the HKS 30th Anniv. and the Carbon-Ti is the Muffler/Tip. Both are Stainless steel piping, but the Ca-Ti has a Carbon Fiber Muffler and "burnt" Titanium Tip.

Are you sure its just the muffler and tip? I thought it was everything from the cat back is made of Titanium?

Nope, Matt's right. the piping is the same stainless from the Hi-Power. The muffler shell is wrapped in carbon fiber and the tip is titanium with the blue flame look.

Do you still have your cat on your Evo? Do you happen to have a picture of the exhaust tip mounted on your car? Thanks

Yup, still running the stock cat. I do have my eye on the Helix High-Flow cat though.

No cat delete pipe for me. I am not ready to splice into my O2 harness to avoid the CEL light. Not yet, anyway.

As for the pic of the tip, Corey had it right on. It looks like it hangs low, but it's really no different than the stocker in height. As for the angle, Yes it hangs like that.

Matt is correct. The HKS exhausts go like this:

HKS Hi power - mild steel piping, stainless muffler
HKS Hi Power 30th Anniversary - stainless steel piping + muffler
HKS Carbon Ti - stainless piping with stainless muffler, titanium tip, muffler wrapped in carbon

All use the same diameter piping so power gains will be the same

I think I need to adjust the ring around the muffler a bit. Just never got around to doing it. I noticed that it kinda hung a bit lower than my buddies HI-Power last weekend when they were sitting right next to each other. Haven't had any problems with it hanging like that though. It could probably be moved about 1/4 of a inch maybe. Not much though.

Thanks for the compliments.

Sound is just the same as well. Unless you run a test pipe like me. Then it sounds totally different at WOT.

I remember reading somewhere on these forums that HKS is planning on coming out with a FULL titanium exhaust for the evo. Is that true? can anyone verify that?

Try the HKS silent Hi-Power - same performance and it sounds as quiet as stock.

Anyone have any pics of the silent hi-power? I'm curious about how it looks like.
