Navigation System

Has anyone here put in a dvd navigation system in their evo (any evo really) and if so, how is it?, how well does it work? Does it look right in the car?

A dvd NAV system is a luxury doodad that does not belong on the EVO, a purpose-built machine.

I had the factory option NAV in my 350Z. It is a novelty that is useless 95% of the time since you usually know where you are going. If you have to go somewhere you are not familiar with, it works just fine. But so does mapquest.com and that's free.

for the people with the N-1 did you put it in the regular (top) slot or did you put it in the bottom slot? I think I saw a picture of somebody that had a flip out screen in the bottom slot but I don't remember. Can some of you post a picture of the N-1 in your Evo.
Thanks

i put mines in the top for the reason my oem gauges already were in the bottom but you could put in the bottom.

dood you're taking the whole pure-bred race thing a tad bit far! dvd movies for long road trips are the best, haha.

btw a question for the N1 users, is the navi built into the head unit or do you need to purchase a seperate apparatus. and where did you buy yours, and for how much?

Its built in the N1 is a great unit just a tad out of my price range though MSRP is about 2200 bucks... I have seen it a lot cheaper online though.

I put in the magellan 700 - its a removeable device - I wanted one that I could switch from vehicle to vehicle.

Its awesome - one of the best purchases I've made lately. Works great, and unlike mapquest or whatever, it tells you where you are on the map, not just where to go. Fantastic. You have to see and use it to believe it.

the magellan looks a little funny since it attatches to the windshield, but it works great. Its even improved my marriage! (Ha Ha - we invariable get into arguments when we get lost )

Pretty much any nav system will tell you where you are they all have GPS in them.
