I say keep it...why do you really need extra computers to mess with later?(AYC,YMCA whatever it is) Keep it simple and easy to repair... just my thought.

keep it until we get a full beast. ACD with super yaw. The EVo 9 is the horizon Think about it this way. The 03 EVo outhandled if not equal to the STi which had DCCD . So the 03 EVo handling is still second best to the MR. The MR handles better but nothing to get rid of ur car for. The new color is cool but already beat to death. Just keep what u got.

I am amking way more power than a MR. If its six speed is any thing like th STI (close ratio, short gears) they can keep that ****. Also that aydc whatever it called will not be felt on the street. Only at the track. Like the bigger turbo and the bilsteins Im sure I can buy those at the dealership. No sunroof I bought mine with one. My three cents. If I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now-I would buy thr regular evo. If you are going to Modify the car it really does not matter.

You bring up an excellent point. When the Evo is modified, the powerband does change and time will only tell if apples to apples a modified GS-R and a modified MR go head to head, which car/transmission combo will win. I feel the 5 speed will benefit more because of the slightly wider ratios. I think the 6 speed will rip through the powerband too fast and not take full advantage of the mods. Stock for stock I see a slight advantage to the six speed, but I highly doubt that any of the MR's are going to stay stock, there is too much temptation out there!

According to the owners manual for 2005, the RS/GS-R/MR have the same top speed capability through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. In forth gear, the difference is 99 MPH max speed for the six speed and 108 for the five speed. Any more speed beyond that is just asking for a ticket for reckless driving and/or jail time, impouding of the car, etc.

Question my opinion on the mr

I saw a new mr this weekend for the first time in person. I may be the only one but I like my 03 better. I have about $2000 in my 03 and I could beat a stock mr and my car still didn't cost as much. I also like and prefer the 5 speed on my evo the extra gear would be great on the highway but I didn't buy it for gas mileage. I am not trying to be negative about the mr, I like and respect it, but with that said I wouldn't even consider trading in my 03 for one. And even if they are functional I don't like the vortex things (technical term) on the roof. Anyway, is anyone else with me on this?

The only thing I wish I had is a front LSD. I can get that for way less than the 10K it would cost me to switch to the MR!

The last thing I think when buying a sport car is the mileage!
Both cars are fantastic, but my vote goes to MR, because it has 6 speed(smoother operation) and Bilstein shocks.

How does the six speed provide smoother operation?
