It all depends on where you live. Use wiper fluid if you live in colder regions or just plain water will do but algae may form so spray often if you use straight up water.

if you arent worried about freezing then use distilled water. the only reason the manual says windsheild fluid is because it has agents to keep it from freezing. the only bad thing i can see with that is it would burn your spray motors out while trying to spray ice. there is even room in the neck, 5 inches above the drain, to let the ice expand. my .02

a better question is does anyone actually use them... I tried mine but didn't see any diff so it pretty much is a feature that sits and does nothing...

Methanol / Water (washer fluid) does a better job of cooling than water alone, and is less prone to freezing. Distilled water is a viable substitute if you are too lazy to get washer fluid, but it may freeze. Tap water should never be used. It contains mineral impurities that will foul the spray nozzle and/or leave scaly deposits on the intercooler.

I still don't get this. Since the intercooler is wet by dirty water from the street when it rains, what difference does tap water from the sprayer make? Has anyone actually seen this to be a problem? Any clogged nozzles out there?

I think the sprayer only works on long grades (or racing) in high temperature/low humidity situations anyway.

But's it's fun to push the button!

bleach and all the chemicals that's in the water for purification reasons...

I don't see any problems with the tap water. Alcohol and water mix seem to work good, but I heard it really doesn't do much at all for the air being colder.

I think it's because the IC piping (the rubber part) that's going to the Throttle body is right under the Down pipe, so the air gets warm anyway.

Methanol and ethenol corrode (or increase oxidation rate of) aluminum. just a thought.

I heard people are running alcohol gels now. they'll just smear it on the IC sprayer before they run and by the time they're done, it's gone.

They cool faster and heat slower.
